Support Worker (Adults) Bank
Torquay, Devon
Salary scale: £9.02- £9.64 per hour dependent on experience
Working hours: flexible weekend shifts as required

Are you looking for a flexible role without the commitment of a permanent contract? Are you happy to work some weekend shifts when required? If so, we would love to hear from you.

With 20 years of success, Lifeworks provides a wide range of programmes and services to support children and young adults with learning disabilities. We are now looking for Support Workers to join our team on a bank contract within Sesame, our adult residential home in Torquay.

As a Support Worker, you will provide support to young adults with complex learning disabilities as they go about their daily lives. Sesame offers a safe environment, enabling residents to explore their potential and develop their level of independence with help from caring and skilled support staff.

You’ll receive full training and ongoing support in your role to build on your existing experience and enable you to achieve your career ambitions.

Delivering a high level of personal care, you will ensure the boundaries of choice, dignity and respect are maintained and if necessary, safeguarding issues are pursued.

Interested? To be considered, you will ideally have previous relevant experience of working with people with learning disabilities and complex needs.

Although it is not a prerequisite, successful applicants will be expected to obtain the Care Certificate within an agreed timeframe.

Responsible, dependable and committed, as a Support Worker, you must also have a friendly, encouraging and easy-going attitude, as well as great communication skills.

Lifeworks is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young adults and they expect all staff to share this commitment. For this post, pre-employment checks will be carried out, references will be sought, and successful candidates will need to undertake an enhanced DBS check.
