IMechE Argyll Ruane (IAR), part of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), is the leading global provider of non-destructive testing and inspection services.

Based in our multi-million pound Engineering Training Centre in Sheffield, we offer a range of inspection and non-destructive testing training courses, examinations and consultancy services.

We are currently looking for an NDT Level III Consultant, Trainer and Examiner to join our team and play a key role in the delivery of our NDT training solutions.

The Role

As an NDT Level III Consultant, Trainer and Examiner, you’ll deliver a range of consultancy, training, examination and certification services in the Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) disciplines you are qualified in.

You will deliver contracted Level III consultancy services to ensure clients’ NDT facilities comply with industry standards, such as ASME and NADCAP via regular on-site audits and frequent dialogue.

Additionally, you will:

- Document all findings to produce clear, concise audit reports
- Deliver training in multiple certification schemes, such as SNT-TC-1A, EN 4179, NAS 410 or PCN
- Invigilate and mark examinations to a consistent level
- Build client relationships to enable new revenue streams
- Develop and approve NDT procedures, written practices and NDT techniques

About You

To join us as an NDT Level III Consultant, Trainer and Examiner, you will need:

- Extensive industrial NDT experience, including extensive knowledge of your own subject area
- NDT method Level III certifications, including the following: ISO 9712 (PCN) ET Welds, RT Welds, UT Welds and UT Forgings
- Proven experience of providing solutions to clients’ NDT inspection related problems, with the ability to assume full technical responsibility for clients’ NDT facilities
- The willingness to train and upgrade your personal certification to EN4179/ASNT/PCN Level III as well as train and learn new methods as required
- To be e-literate and competent in developing, administering and using PC and associated networks and systems (e.g. Microsoft Office) and accounting packages to acquire, manipulate and disseminate information
- A full, valid driving licence
- Strong communication skills and the creativity to plan and deliver lessons in a professional, positive and engaging manner
