The Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) acquired the world-renowned NDT, Corrosion and Coatings Training and Consultancy organisation now known as IMechE Argyll Ruane in 2012. Based in our multi-million pound Engineering Training Centre just outside Sheffield, we offer a range of inspection and non-destructive testing training courses, examinations and consultancy services.

Now, we are looking for a Non-Destructive Testing Trainer to join us and deliver high-quality training to learners in the UK and overseas. 

The Role 

As a Non-Destructive Testing Trainer, you’ll deliver high-quality training in the Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) disciplines you are qualified in. 

Specifically, you will: 

- Develop programmes of learning activities, including planning, preparing, delivering and researching training sessions 
- Review and assess students’ work 
- Invigilate examinations and ensure that awarding body standards are met 
- Liaise with specialist and NDT professionals to ensure that contemporary thinking and practice is brought into training 
- Maintain accurate training records 
- Travel to sites throughout the UK and overseas 

About You 

To join us as a Non-Destructive Testing Trainer, you will need: 

- Significant experience in non-destructive testing (NDT) methods 
- To be qualified to train in PAUT and TOFD 
- The ability and willingness to travel overseas 
- The willingness to train and upgrade your personnel certification to PCN Level 3 
- The willingness to learn new NDT methods and train to become certified in other NDT schemes as required 
- A full, valid driving licence with no more than six points 

Ideally, you will have a PCN Level 2 or PCN/ASNT Level 3 qualification in various NDT methods, such as RT, MT, VT, and PT. An ISO 9001 Lead Auditor Qualification and proven experience of managing a quality assurance programme would also be beneficial. 

Other organisations may call this role NDT Trainer, Technical Trainer, Trainer, Training Consultant, Trainer & Assessor, Assessor, Non-Destructive Testing Inspector or NDT Assessor.
