Builders Beams are a fully integrated structural steel fabricator supplying steel and reinforcing to the construction industry since 1992. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Commercial Director to join the business to take full responsibility for the commercial activity of the business, working alongside the Operations Director/COO and reporting directly to the Managing Director.

The role will involve:

• Presenting BBL to potential clients and consultants through direct communication, in face to face meetings, telephone calls and e-mails.
• Attending meetings and events with clients and potential clients.
• Generating leads and appointments for preliminary interviews and briefings.
• Reporting on Business Development activities to the management board.
• Representing BBL at industry events and trade shows.
• Managing a pipeline of opportunities ensuring that all deadlines are met and that information presented meets the company standards.
• Assisting in the creation of client proposals and any subsequent documentation as part of the BBL submission team.
• Developing a thorough understanding of client’s objectives, their organisation, their personnel and their capital works programme.
• Interacting with other BBL departments especially the fabrication, estimating and technical teams.
• Keeping informed about issues affecting the industry sector and collect competitor information.
• Ensuring BBL remains proactive and responsive to prospective clients.
• Maintaining contacts with other Senior Management Team to ensure a cross flow of information.
• Producing a report of opportunities and leads which is updated on a monthly basis.
• Monitoring and reporting upon Client Satisfaction Forms and produce information on a monthly basis for the Key Performance Indicators

The ideal candidate will:
• Have excellent attention to detail to ensure all potential leads are captured and explored.
• Have excellent knowledge of the steel fabrication industry and ideally held a similar role in this industry
• External and internal sales experience with a proven track record of maximising sales
• Management experience
• High proficiency in Excel
• Systems experience
