About Us

Our magnificent Victorian building, home to the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, overlooks St James's Park and is just moments away from HM Treasury, the Houses of Parliament and Horse Guards Parade. Here, our flexible venue can host events from lectures, conferences, meetings, away days, seminars and training courses to drinks receptions and fine dining events.

Now, we’re looking for a Commercial Venue Manager to oversee this space in Birdcage Walk, for a fixed-term maternity cover contract until the 30th November 2020.

Your Role

As the Commercial Venue Manager, you will take responsibility for managing the hire services for One Birdcage Walk, our breath-taking venue in Westminster.

Seeking to maximise bookings of our rooms, you will manage the Venue & Room Hire team and optimise the revenue for external hires whilst making the spaces available for internal events and focusing on delivering the forecasted business plan.

Primarily focusing on our London space, you will:

- Generate new business and revenue through sales, marketing, operations and customer service
- Take responsibility for innovation and pricing
- Improve and maintain the quality of services
- Control the venue hire and service costs
- Encourage internal users to book rooms and times that have least commercial impact
- Take responsibility for innovation and pricing

About You

To join us as our Commercial Venue Manager, you’ll need:

- Experience of working in venue management in a senior role
- Customer service experience
- A track record of managing successful marketing campaigns
- Previous experience of financial analysis, budget setting and account reporting

You’ll have experience of managing and motivating a team to meet objectives. Experience of Sitefinity would be an advantage, as would experience of working with Rendezvous room booking software.
