Job Title: Cook

Location: Belfast City Centre

Contract: Full time/Part time Permanent/Temporary positions available

Responsible To: Catering Manager

Objective: To prepare and cook high quality meals in a timely manner ensuring customer satisfaction.


Job Description:

-To be responsible for preparation, cooking and serving of meals, to the agreed menus and standards.
-Catering for any dietary requirements and special functions as the need may arise.
-To ensure that the food is cooked and stored in hygienic conditions and in line with required standards.
-To ensure food safety and HACCP (Hazard Analysis and critical control point) procedures are adhered to.
-To utilise staff, materials and equipment in an efficient and effective manner.
-Ensuring the needs and expectations of customers are met
-Responsible for maintaining records of food temperatures, fridges and freezer units.
-Daily checking of stock, cooked foods etc.
-General duties including washing dishes, cleaning equipment, etc.
-Ensuring a high standard of Health & Safety is maintained at all times.
-Being aware of and adhering to all Usel’s Policies and Procedures

Person Specification:
Essential:
-Excellent customer service skills
-Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written
-Ability to cook food to a high standard and have a passion for cooking and be willing to learn and update skills.
-The ability to carry out tasks quickly and competently
-Ability to work as part of a team
-A positive “can do” attitude that is solution focused

Desirable:
- Food Safety Level 2
- Experience working in a busy kitchen
- Experience working with people that have a disability
