Lifeworks College is a small independent specialist provision based in Dartington, near Totnes where young people with learning disabilities and their families are at the heart of everything we do. We want every person we support to have a great life with excellent outcomes.

As part of our ongoing development, we are looking for an efficient and effective administrator with lots of common sense who can provide a seamless administration service to support the Teacher-in-Charge in a professional and friendly way.

The successful post holder will be able to demonstrate a strong track record in academic administration, ideally within a learning disability setting.

We want a great organiser who takes pride in team working, compliance, working to specific deadlines and seeing processes through from start to finish, someone with an excellent grasp of written English and Maths, clear communication skills and a level-headed manner are essential, as well as being able to demonstrate their knowledge in Microsoft Office Packages (ie. excel, word, access etc). In addition to this a good working knowledge of ESFA returns would also be advantageous.

Your hours of work will be Monday – Friday (12:30pm – 4:30pm) during term time as well as an additional 10 days during school holidays.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Reception duties, acting as the first point of contact for parents, suppliers and external agencies
• General admin tasks, including organising the post, filing, typing, photocopying and maintaining data
• Maintaining LA and ESFA information and reporting
• Providing recruitment support to HR
• Coordinating meetings and recording minutes

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and we expect all staff to share this commitment. For this post, pre-employment checks will be carried out, references will be sought and successful candidates will need to undertake an enhanced DBS check.

We offer a competitive salary, full training and on-going support in your role so you can achieve your best potential as well as a company pension and a staff discount scheme.

Children and young adults are at the heart of everything we do so if you share this passion we would love to hear from you.
As a Disability Confident Leader, we are committed to encouraging applications from applicants who declare they have a disability, provided they meet the minimum job criteria as specified in the person specification, by offering a guaranteed interview.

For an informal conversation regarding the position, please get in touch with the Teacher-in-Charge on 01803 865075.
