We are now seeking a Commercial Finance Business Partner to join our team in Westminster and oversee a number of vital commercial business areas.

The Role

As the Commercial Finance Business Partner, you will be tasked with taking the lead on the financial and commercial aspects of our learning and development and venue hire businesses.

IMechE Learning and Development (ILD) offers a range of courses to engineering professionals, students, apprentices and young people to enhance engineering skill sets and promote careers in engineering.

One Birdcage Walk is one of London’s most beautiful Victorian buildings and the home of IMechE. Our five storey building provides a wide range of venue uses alongside the day-to-day running of our institution, from lectures, conferences and seminars to events and meetings.

Specifically, your role will involve:

- Completing financial reporting and planning for both the venue hire and ILD functions
- Supporting the IT department with financial reporting and planning activities
- Leading the financial and commercial development of each business area
- Working as part of the Management team to develop and implement strategy
- Overseeing the processing of financial ledgers
- Preparing and consolidating month-end management accounts
- Completing and presenting analysis of financial results
- Taking the lead on planning, forecasting and budgeting for venue hire, ILD and IT
- Supporting the review, development and improvement of financial systems and policies
- Managing balance sheets

About You

To be considered as the Commercial Finance Business Partner, you will need:

- To be a qualified accountant
- Experience in a commercial finance role at an SME including monthly financial reporting and analysis
- To be a proven communicator who takes the time to listen, understand and communicate constructively and can explain financial information to non-financial people in a clear and professional manner

Experience of systems improvement and implementation would also be an advantage, as would knowledge of the use of financial management systems, specifically SUN, Sage 50 and Microsoft Business Central.
