Community Enrichment Support Worker - Bank
Based in Totnes (you may be required to work in surrounding areas)
Salary scale: £11.03 per hour
Working hours: Bank work available on Saturdays and during school holidays

About the Role

You will be working with children and young people with learning disabilities and/or complex needs as part of a small team You will provide safe, high quality and effective person-centred and needs-led support and care to enable young people to achieve their goals, targets and aspirations in their recreation and leisure time. This will be across various social constructs including Arts, Sport, Youth and Holiday Provision.

Whether it’s supporting during our Saturday youth groups, monthly Saturday supper club or supporting in the programme of events during the school holidays every day will be different, fulfilling and fun.

About You

You will need to be ambitious and have a real passion for supporting children and young people evidencing best practice at all times. This underpins our Community Enrichment service design and delivery and is an expectation of all who work and volunteer as part of our Community Enrichment team.

Ideally, you will have at least an NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care, Youth Work or Play Work, and experience in supporting individuals with learning disabilities or working in youth organisations. Ideally, we would prefer for you have work experience in this field, however, if you have lived experience, we would still love to hear from you. You will need to have availability to work on a Saturday day time, once a month to attend our Saturday supper club and to work on our school holiday time enrichment programme.
