Are you looking for a new exciting role to support & enable a young lady in her new home to lead an independent life? Are you an experienced enabler who is passionate and has an empathetic and caring nature?

About Us

Based in South Devon, Lifeworks provide high-quality short breaks and residential care, community-based programmes and specialist further education to children, young people and adults with learning disabilities.

Our vision is simple – to support people with learning disabilities to have a great life. We seek to do this by creating opportunities for children, young people and adults so they can reach their full potential, are engaged with and valued by their local communities. We put the people that we support at the heart of everything we do and ensure we listen to their voices and views, as well as their families and other key stakeholders as we develop our services.

About the Role

We are building a new team to deliver high-quality support to a young lady with learning disabilities in her new home.

You will be supporting her with practical daily living tasks as well as a wide range of activities related to her interests and hobbies to support her wellbeing. You will not only provide practical support to develop skills to aid her independence and achieve goals, but also emotional support and being there as a friend.

About You

To be considered, you will ideally have previous relevant experience of working with people and adults with learning disabilities in a supported living set-up.

Successful applicants will ideally hold a L3 Health & Social Care qualification (minimum L2 Health & Social Care).

In return, we would like to support you in making care work your career, offering you an extensive induction on commencement of employment and an amazing array of training opportunities. We will also work with you on your own individual development plan to help you to progress your career.

Benefits

We are a well-established charity that provides an excellent range of staff benefits:

- 28 days’ annual leave (including bank holidays), increasing with service
- Annual Incremental pay rises (within grade)
- Pension and Life Assurance (T&Cs apply)
- Employee Assistance Scheme
- Retail/High Street shopping discounts (Eden Red)
- Fully funded Enhanced DBS & Update Service
- Refer a Friend bonus scheme (T&Cs apply)
- Comprehensive induction & training programs

Lifeworks is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and we expect all staff to share this commitment. For this post, pre-employment checks will be carried out, references will be sought and successful candidates will need to undertake an enhanced DBS.

As an accredited Disability Confident Employer, we are committed to encouraging applications from applicants who declare they have a disability, provided they meet the minimum job criteria as specified in the person specification, by offering a guaranteed interview.

Due to the nature of this role, we can only welcome applications from female candidates.
